Agra, Uttar Pradesh – Police in Agra have arrested a woman after the body of her husband was discovered buried beneath the bathroom floor of their home in Nagla Kishanlal village. The arrest of Seema follows a 45-day period during which she had reported her 32-year-old husband, Neeraj Parmar, missing. The grim discovery was made on Thursday, June 20, 2024, following an intensive police investigation.

The sequence of events began on May 5, when Seema allegedly killed her husband, Neeraj Parmar, and subsequently reported him missing to family members and authorities. She initially claimed that Neeraj had gone to Delhi for work and had not returned. However, Neeraj Parmar's brother filed a First Information Report (FIR) at the Etmadpur police station, expressing growing suspicions about his brother's prolonged disappearance and Seema's inconsistent statements.

Police initiated a detailed inquiry, which led them to focus on the couple's residence. On Wednesday, June 19, Seema was taken into custody for questioning. During interrogation, she reportedly admitted to killing her husband. This admission led authorities to conduct a thorough search of the home.

The search culminated in the discovery of Neeraj Parmar's remains on Thursday, June 20. Officers, in the presence of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) and Circle Officer (CO), noticed unusual tiling and recent concrete work in the bathroom area. Upon excavation, the concealed body was found. The body was subsequently exhumed and sent for post-mortem examination to ascertain the precise cause and time of death.

According to police statements, Seema allegedly killed Neeraj Parmar by feeding him kheer (a rice pudding) laced with a poisonous substance. Police assert that the primary motive behind the murder was a marital dispute, complicated by Seema's alleged extramarital affair with a local resident named Sandeep. Following Neeraj's death, Seema, with the alleged assistance of Sandeep, reportedly buried the body under the bathroom floor to conceal the crime.

Seema, in her statement to the police, claimed that her husband was a habitual drunkard and frequently subjected her to physical assault. She also stated that she suspected him of having an extramarital affair, providing her claimed justification for the act. However, police investigations suggest that Seema herself was involved in an affair.

Both Seema and Sandeep have been arrested in connection with Neeraj Parmar's murder. Authorities are currently engaged in further evidence collection and detailed interrogations of the accused individuals. The incident has caused significant distress and shock within the Nagla Kishanlal village community.

The Agra Police department has confirmed that the investigation remains active, with officers working to establish a comprehensive timeline of events and to identify any other individuals who may have been involved in the alleged crime or its concealment. Legal proceedings against the arrested individuals are expected to commence as the police investigation concludes.
