CUET PG 2026 Exam Underway: Candidates Reminded of Mandatory Document Requirements at Centres
The Common University Entrance Test (Postgraduate), or CUET PG 2026, examination is currently underway across various designated centres nationwide, facilitating admissions into postgraduate programmes for the academic session commencing in 2026. Administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA), the examination draws thousands of candidates vying for limited seats in participating universities and institutions across India. As candidates proceed with the crucial entrance test, the NTA has issued clear directives regarding the mandatory documents required for entry to the examination centres, underscoring the importance of strict adherence to these guidelines for a seamless process.
The CUET PG examination serves as a standardized platform, streamlining the admission process for postgraduate courses in central, state, deemed, and private universities. Its objective is to provide a single window opportunity for candidates to seek admission to a wide array of courses, thereby reducing the burden of appearing in multiple entrance examinations. The smooth conduct of the examination hinges on candidates fulfilling all stipulated requirements, particularly the verification of identity and eligibility through prescribed documentation. Any discrepancy or failure to produce the necessary papers can lead to disqualification from appearing for the test.
Officials at the NTA emphasize that document verification is a critical step in maintaining the integrity and fairness of the examination process. Candidates arriving at the centres without the requisite documentation will be denied entry, irrespective of having a valid admit card. This stringent measure is in place to prevent impersonation and ensure that only registered and eligible candidates attempt the examination.
To ensure hassle-free entry and participation, candidates appearing for the CUET PG 2026 examination must carry the following mandatory documents to their respective centres:
- CUET PG 2026 Admit Card: A printed copy of the Admit Card downloaded from the official NTA website. This document contains vital information such as the candidate's name, roll number, examination centre, date, and time.
- Original Photo Identification (ID) Proof: Candidates must present one original, valid government-issued photo identification proof. Acceptable forms of ID include:
- Aadhar Card (with photograph)
- PAN Card
- Driving License
- Voter ID Card
- Passport
- Ration Card (with photograph)
- Passport-size Photograph: One recent passport-size photograph, identical to the one uploaded during the online application form submission. This photo is typically affixed to the attendance sheet at the examination centre.
- PwBD Certificate (if applicable): Candidates claiming relaxation under the Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) category must carry their original PwBD certificate issued by a competent authority.
- Self-declaration (Undertaking): A duly filled and signed self-declaration (undertaking) form regarding health status, as mandated by NTA guidelines, may also be required, depending on prevailing health advisories.
Candidates are strictly prohibited from carrying any electronic devices, study material, food items, or other restricted articles into the examination hall. Transparent ballpoint pens are generally permitted, and personal transparent water bottles may be allowed in some centres.
Following the conclusion of the examination phases, the NTA is expected to release provisional answer keys, allowing candidates to raise objections within a specified window. This will be followed by the declaration of final results and subsequent counselling processes, which will determine admissions to various postgraduate programmes for the 2026 academic session. Candidates are advised to regularly check the official NTA website for the latest updates and announcements regarding results and the admission timeline.
