New Delhi – India's Defence Acquisition Council (DAC), chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, recently approved capital acquisition proposals totaling approximately Rs 2.3 lakh crore.   • Overhaul of Su-30 MKI Fighter Jets: The package also allocates substantial funds for the overhaul and upgrade of existing Sukhoi Su-30 MKI fighter aircraft. This critical maintenance and modernization program, to be undertaken by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), is vital for extending the operational life and enhancing the combat effectiveness of a significant portion of the Indian Air Force's frontline fighter fleet.
  • Advanced Offshore Patrol Vessels (ACVs) for Coast Guard: Procurement of new Advanced Offshore Patrol Vessels will strengthen the Indian Coast Guard's capabilities in maritime surveillance, interdiction, and search and rescue operations, contributing to enhanced coastal security and domain awareness.
