On November 25, 2021, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the Noida International Airport (NIA) in Jewar, Gautam Buddh Nagar district, Uttar Pradesh. This significant infrastructure project is set to establish the Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR)'s second international aviation hub, aiming to enhance air connectivity and serve the burgeoning demands of the region. The airport is being developed by Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Zurich Airport International AG, under a 40-year concession.
